What is Itchy Breast

An itch refers to an irritating, tickling sensation that comes with the continuous need for scratching. Pruritus is the medical term used to refer to itching. In the breast, the itchy area may undergo swelling, redness, flaking, soreness and scarring.

Scratching will probably ease your symptoms temporarily, but it can cause additional irritation or result in infection. With the majority of itching cases, it is best for you to keep yourself from scratching the area and leave it to heal on its own. Causes of itchy breast vary and are likely to include trauma, infections, allergies and insect bites like those of mosquitoes.
